Providing quality curriculum for parents and teachers who want to give children an excellent and thorough classical education.
Education Equals My Catholic Curriculum has begun it's curriculum by starting with reading workbooks and teacher manuals for kindergarten, first, and second graders following the Faith and Freedom Readers from a generation past. Seton Press has started reprinting these classically beautiful readers in full beautiful color, and now E=MC2 has excellent workbooks and teachers manual that follow these readers. This program teaches skills that will help students build a strong foundation necessary in the early grades to prepare them for the rest of their school years.
The poetry program has been designed in three steps. In kindergarten through second grade, the program is called Young Poetry. This introduces the students to nursery rhymes and other fun-filled, easy to memorize poems. In third through fifth grade, the program is called Analyzing Poetry. This introduces the students to analyzing poetry in small, manageable steps. In sixth through eighth grade, the program is called Analyzing and Annotating Poetry. This introduces the students to a more vigorous type of analyzing that uses the art of annotating poetry using well-known and well-loved poems. Every grade in the program has a teacher's manual, and both Young Poetry and Analyzing and Annotating Poetry have student workbooks.
The writing program, The Write Way: The Easy Road to Essay Writing, was created with the student and the teacher in mind. Many writing programs are difficult to follow and can be too confusing or complicated for the teacher as well as the student. E=MC2 has taken this into consideration and made a program that makes teaching essay writing both easy and fun. Each program is set to build off each lesson, and to give the students the skill and knowledge to write persuasive, expository, narrative, and descriptive essays. The program also gives the teachers a narrative to use to help with teaching this daunting subject. Currently E=MC2 has the first, second, and third grade books done and are currently working on the others with the hope of having 4th-6th done by the end of the summer.
Smart Art is E=MC2 program for art. The program is designed with two art projects that correspond to each month. Throughout the year, new artists are introduced and discussed, and the students learn about art terms that correspond with each artist. This three-year, spiral program introduces students to 24 different artists. Currently E=MC2 has Year A completed and are currently working on Year B and Year C with the hope of having those two done by next year.
E=MC2 has a music program called The Great Composers that introduces the famous composers and their music in a fun and interesting way. The program is designed for parents and teachers to simply choose each composer they would like to study, whether it be one composer for each month or one composer for each week. Since there are so many great composers from the past and from our own time, E=MC2 will be adding more composers as each packet is finished.
